Although I tend to blog about the highlights in my life, the “lifestyle” portion of my blog should really encompass the hard truths, even if it isn’t so pretty. So while I would love to talk about fashion and lovely fall styles, I can’t in the midst of the turmoil Florida is experiencing due to Hurricane Irma, one of the strongest storms ever measured in the Atlantic to date.
Although I have lived in South Florida for years, this year was my first time attending Miami Swim Week. Working with the swimwear brand, Ola Feroz, I was able to participate in some of the awesome events that week!
Recently I re-introduced myself to one of my hobbies from the past: figure skating. Maybe you have a pastime or hobby that you used to do when you were younger but stopped for whatever reason. I’ve been there. Life gets in the way and as you grow up, sometimes it becomes more routine- if you let it. I’m thankful that right now I don’t have classes so I’m trying to maximize my free time. Obviously I still have my downtime where I love just catching up on shows on Netflix. Well maybe like one show per day, while I eat breakfast. Multitasking is good, guys! But I’ve been learning the importance of balance. What it comes down to is organization and preparation. And this can really apply to anything you want to do. Even if it’s a fun activity, sometimes you have to plan it out so that you don’t waste time trying to figure things out the day of. So I took this into consideration and decided to go figure skating yesterday. It’s been a while so I had to get my muscles used to it again (muscle memory came in handy though, lol).
Hello beautiful people! This past weekend has been unforgettable! The gloomy weather that had been prevalent throughout the beginning of the week was replaced by glorious sunshine. Perfect timing for sure because I spent my weekend in South Beach, Miami. A conference took place in Fillmore Theater that was actually organized by the church I regularly attend: Vous Church. Words can’t describe how impacting this event was, and I mean that in a very positive way!
Wow! It’s crazy to think we are already in June! As we are moving closer and closer to summer, I wanted to end the Spring season with some good tips to lighten your load and help with the transition. Although I have a love/hate relationship with the idea of Spring cleaning, I find that I feel so much better after. I’m sure you will too! Here are some tips to help say hello to Summer with not only a fresh closet, but a fresh mindset:
I know that a lot of people think this day is cliché; trust me, I’ve been there too, but I actually love the true meaning of Valentine’s Day. Once you get past the materialistic side, it really is just about sharing love with others. And I don’t think this day has to be just about romantic love either. So single people (or couples), if your only plan is to stay indoors today, I’ve got a nice treat for you. Today I want to share some of my favorite teas and their amazing benefits to bring on all the good feelings! Get cozy and I hope you enjoy every moment of today.
Today I just wanted to share a few tips for those who want to build a more active lifestyle. Although I’m not a personal trainer, I hope my experience in running several races, two of which were full marathons, will inspire you to build a foundation for a healthier lifestyle. I thought of this title for my article because we all start from somewhere. Running may not be for everyone and there are plenty of other activities that you can also do to stay active, but I just wanted to focus on how you can progress from ground zero to the runner you aspire to be!
Living in Florida, it is inevitable to go to Key West at least once in your lifetime. It all begin when my older sister and I decided to run yet another half marathon.
