Hello beautiful people! This past weekend has been unforgettable! The gloomy weather that had been prevalent throughout the beginning of the week was replaced by glorious sunshine. Perfect timing for sure because I spent my weekend in South Beach, Miami. A conference took place in Fillmore Theater that was actually organized by the church I regularly attend: Vous Church. Words can’t describe how impacting this event was, and I mean that in a very positive way!
Although South Beach is only an hour from where I live, we decided to stay at the Dorchester Hotel so that getting around would be easier. The hotel receptionist was nice enough to give us a suite upgrade with no extra charge! The hotel was just what we needed. It was walking distance from the Fillmore Theater. The suite had eclectic decor which fits the South Beach vibe. The hotel was pretty peaceful too, which is nice after a long day of conference.
On the first day of conference, they opened up the doors to the room selling the “Vous Merch.” It had tons of sweaters, shirts, and hats exclusively for those who attended the conference (and usually tends to sell out by the first day, lol). They had other cool accessories like “Vous” pins and socks. Of course I went for the windbreaker with the conference logo on it. In my head it was an investment because it rains all the time in Florida so it was so worth it!
The first night set the tone for the rest of the weekend. All of the speakers were incredible. There are key points that I remember from each one that really spoke to me. Although I wish I could share more in depth what each one spoke about, it would be so long for this post so maybe I’ll leave that for another time.
For a weekend filled with walking to and from, I opted for light clothing pieces most of the time. Not only is South Beach hot, but it is also very humid. One of my biggest tips is always dress for your condition and location. You look more put together when you know your environment and work with it. I wish I could put more pictures of some of the outfits I wore but this weekend was action packed! However, on Sunday we had a bigger break in the afternoon and were able to take some pictures. As you can see from the pictures, I decided to wear a fun red dress from Motel Rocks. Red definitely stands out so if you’re wearing it, wear it with confidence. But I’ve definitely been into red lately. It makes an outfit more exciting as red is the color of passion and courage. Color can have a lot to do with emotions! Just study color psychology and you’ll see! Furthermore, I feel like red is a year-round color. The brightness of it works for summer. But as fall and winter comes around, you’ll see everyone rocking their red dresses for holiday dinners and whatnot! So needless to say, I’ve become a fan of red.

That afternoon, I met up with the amazing Mission I’m-POSSIBLE (aka: MIP) crew and we went out for lunch at Pubbelly Noodle Bar. So yummy!! I was also happy to spend some time with my sister afterwards just walking around Lincoln Road. We stopped at Ladurée for dessert. I have a huge thing for french desserts, they are just too good! But really, who can resist cute colorful macarons??
But funny story, while I was heading back to the theater later that afternoon, a sweet lady stopped me in the middle of the street asking where I got my shoes. True story. The streetlights were red and she wanted to know all about my shoes and where she can get them for herself. I was definitely flattered but also a little concerned that the lights would turn green at any point. Girls and our conversations, HA. There’s no stopping us.
Beyond the good food and fashion, the best part of this weekend was making amazing new friendships and learning more about God. There’s always more to learn. I want to live a life of gratitude because there’s so much to be thankful for when you think about it. From the smallest details to the big ones, just be thankful. Trust me, you will feel so much better after!
Sorry for the long post, but this weekend was just too great not to share with you guys. Wishing everyone a happy week ahead! XO
